What's Going on at Summer Camp?

Summer Camp 2022 is over and it was officially the BEST SUMMER EVER!

A HUGE thanks to DeCicco & Son's for providing 10 days of food to our campers. The food was so good, there wasn’t a drop left!

Thanks to all of our amazing community partners who quickly stepped up to ensure that our campers had full bellies and enough food for seconds and thirds:

Dicks Sporting Goods and 914 Cares also made sure that our campers all the supplies for an awesome Summer!

Thank you to the White Plains School District and Pedro, Head of Maintenance at Ridgeway School, for providing us with these amazing facilities.

We also want to spotlight Leon Feigenbaum, one of our amazing volunteers, who helped coordinate the delivery and the serving of all of our food donations!

In addition to the daily fun of arts and crafts and playing on the slip'n'slide, the campers had a few special visitors...

  • PO Lynch, PO Omoruan, and Detective Brown from the White Plains Police Department spoke to the campers about what to do in case of an emergency and the dangers of cyberbullying. The kids even got to take home their very own police badges!

  • Markhoff & Mittman put on their annual carnival at camp with lots of games, prizes, and face painting! Our CEO, Anahaita Kotval, even found her calling as a temporary tattoo artist!

  • Everyone's favorite superheroes stopped by to teach the campers a few moves!

Many of our campers live in a family shelter or come from struggling families in our community. While there's plenty of fun and games at camp, it's a lot more than that.  We build in fun ways to read so they don’t lose the literacy gains they made during the school year. We strengthen their social and problem solving skills by team building.

Because of You, camp has a life-long impact on the children. You have made such a big difference that several of our adult campers-turned-counselors save up their vacation time to come work at camp every year.  They want the kids to know that their today doesn’t have to be their tomorrow.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported our camp this year. Without you, we couldn't provide the support that our campers need to thrive!
