Lifting Up Westchester Announces
Essay Contest Exploring
“Why Second Chances Are Important”

PRESS RELEASE: Lifting Up Westchester, a nonprofit agency committed to giving individuals in need a second chance by helping them to achieve self-sufficiency, announces their second annual high school student essay contest, “Why Second Chances are Important.” Open to all Westchester students in the 7th to 12th grades, students are invited to reflect on what it really means to give someone a “second chance.

Third Time’s A Charm

Lifting Up Westchester Launches its Third Annual Holiday LIFT Campaign

PRESS RELEASE: Lifting Up Westchester (LUW), a nonprofit agency which provides homeless and poverty services to individuals throughout Westchester County, is preparing to launch its third annual Holiday LIFT campaign, with a Fall and Winter Clothing & Coat Giveaway kickoff event on November 3rd.

From food drives to decorating LUW homeless shelters, the Holiday LIFT campaign has activities for all ages and groups. There is even a special Teen Volunteer Saturday on November 10th. 

Signature holiday-themed activities include: providing 2,000 holidays meals from the LUW soup kitchen on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, filling and delivering 500 holiday food bags, distributing pies, cookies and goodie bags, wrapping and delivering hundreds of gifts to men, women and children in need and so much more.

Pace Makes A Difference Day
Exceeds Expected Turnout

THE PACE CHRONICLE - CHRISTINA BUBBA - OCTOBER 13, 2018

The eleventh annual Pace Makes a Difference Day exceeded the number of volunteers from last year by over 30 students.

Pace students volunteered at a number of local organizations including: Lifting Up Westchester, Family Resource Center, Rockefeller State Park, Valhalla Ambulance Corps, Mount Pleasant Public Library, Westchester Land Trust, Audubon Marsh Sanctuary, Pace Nature Center, P4K, and Campus Cleanup. The two cancellations were from Pleasantville Garden Club and Westchester Parks Foundation.
