Anahaita Kotval
Executive Director

Anahaita KotvalAnahaita Kotval became the Executive Director of Lifting Up Westchester in May 2017.  She is a Harvard Law School graduate who began her career as a prosecutor for the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  She established herself as an industry leader in securities regulation during a 13‐year career at RBS where she served as Managing Director and General Counsel of its investment bank in the Americas, RBS Global Banking & Markets (formerly Greenwich Capital).  In 2011 she joined Inspirica, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Inspirica is a Stamford, CT based non-profit that focuses on breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Ms. Kotval has served on the Board and Executive Committees of My Sister’s Place and Pro Bono Partnership.  She received Pro Bono’s Partnership Volunteer of the Year award in 2003 and Volunteer of the Decade award in 2007.  Ms. Kotval has also served on the Board of the Westchester Community Foundation, the Fairfield County Community Foundation, the Women’s Bond Club of New York and the Legal and Compliance Division of the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association.

Ms. Kotval received a B.S. magna cum laude in Applied Math and Economics from Brown University in 1988 and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991.

Carl Williams
Controller

Carl_optCarl Williams joined Lifting Up Westchester as Controller in October 2005. He began his career in the financial service industry by working as a tax shelter commissions auditor/adjustor for Prudential-Bache Securities and later worked for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company. In pursuit of his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license, Mr. Williams performed various financial audits for a variety of nonprofit organizations while employed by Mitchell Titus & Co. LLP. Subsequent to fulfilling his public accounting experience, Mr. Williams accepted a fiscal position with Promesa Inc., a nonprofit community service organization located in the Bronx where he later became the Assistant Controller of its nursing home facility for patients with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

Mr. Williams earned his MBA in Finance from Long Island University in 1990 and his B.S. degree in Accounting from Binghamton University in 1982.   He received his Certified Public Accountant License in 2004.

Chris Schwartz
Director of Development

Chris SchwartzChris Schwartz joined Lifting Up Westchester in 2004 and has held the position of Director of Development since 2007.   In this role she is responsible for all Fundraising, Marketing and Public Relations activities for the agency. Prior to becoming Director of Development she spent three years as Associate Director of Development where she was primarily responsible for grant writing.  

Ms. Schwartz has had over 15 years of experience in Marketing and Advertising management for a variety of consumer product goods, financial services and internet companies. Her experience has included Advertising Manager at iWeb Technologies, Marketing Manager at Royal Trust and Advertising & Marketing Services Manager at Union Carbide.

Ms. Schwartz received her MBA in Marketing from McMaster University in Canada in 1977 and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario in 1975.

Maureen Barry
Director of Human Resources

Maureen Barry joined Lifting Up Westchester as the Payroll Coordinator in February 2011. In August 2012 Ms. Barry was promoted to the position of Human Resources Manager. In 2012 she obtained her PHR and SHRM-CP.   Ms. Barry brings over 23 years of experience in human resources and benefits management having worked in corporate and health care organizations.

Prior to joining LUW, Ms. Barry’s experience included Personnel Generalist at Sterling National Bank and Payroll Supervisor with Executive Health Examiners. She served for 16 years as the Field Manager responsible to Recruit and qualify potential respondents for Market Research studies for View-Finders Market Research.

Ms. Barry earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Iona College in 1982.

Nancy Inzinna
Volunteer & Community Outreach Manager

InzinnaPhoto (2)Nancy Inzinna joined Lifting Up Westchester in 2014.  Before joining the agency, Ms. Inzinna held the position of Assistant Director at a non-profit environmental organization for 15 years. Prior to that, she spent 10 years working in the healthcare field in an administrative capacity. 

Ms. Inzinna has mentored many students over the years as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and as Editor-in- Chief of her college newspaper. In her role at Lifting Up Westchester she works closely with staff in each of our eight programs to coordinate volunteers and community service workers, manage in-kind donations and assist in agency events. 

Ms. Inzinna graduated from Manhattanville College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Management and a concentration in Psychology and Marketing.
